}PgžxQPalaiochora is a small town of 2,500 people situated on the southwest side of Crete.  It is a peninsula that is formed between two gulfs that separate the east and west of Palaiochora.  An ancient castle built by the Venetians is a landmark of the area and tell a tale of the past and the important strategic location of the town.
